Best Village - RHS Britain in Bloom 2009
‘Chipping in Bloom’ began in 2008 and its main objective is to create lasting improvements to the village for the benefit of residents, workers and visitors - now, and for future generations.
Whilst a small action group co-ordinates the campaign, the success to date is very much attributed to the community spirit and goodwill which is given by the people of Chipping.
Chipping entered the North West in Bloom competition for the very first time in 2008 and won Best Village and Best Newcomer categories. We followed this up in 2009 with another victory in North West in Bloom, followed by a triple at the RHS Britain in Bloom awards taking a Gold Award, Best in Category and the RHS Award for Tourism. We completed a hat-trick of wins in the North West in Bloom awards in 2010 by winning the Gold Medal and the Plantscape Trophy.
In 2011 we have now added our fourth consecutive title and another nomination for the RHS Britain in Bloom Awards. REPORT AND PICTURES HERE
Chipping wins Village Category at Britain in
Bloom Awards 2009
The 2009 Britain in Bloom Awards were presented at a special awards ceremony in Torquay. Chipping won a Gold Award and were named overall Village Category winners. Chipping was also awarded a discretionary award for tourism.

Chipping is situated in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, approximately 10 miles North East of Preston.
